Decide if you want your blind to fit 1.INSIDE the window recess or 2.OUTSIDE the window recess

Always use a metal tape measure or ruler, preferably calibrated in metric scale

To avoid slight irregularities in dimensions check width and drop measurements in at least three places

Allow for obstructions or dimensional variations
caused by tiles or window handles and catches

First measure the WIDTH dimension (A-B on diagram 1). Then measure the DROP dimension (C-D in diagram 1).

Confirm that the sizes measured are INSIDE RECESS.

If you are measuring for a newly built property please check that your builder has completed all the final details surrounding the windows.

Do not forget to allow for unfitted carpets or
flooring.

On roller blinds the actual fabric width will always be 35mm less than the overall measurement you give us (A-B) to allow for the fixings.

On wood venetian, metal venetian and vertical blinds the actual blind width is 12mm less than the overall measurement you give us (A-B) to allow for the fixings.

Decide by how much you wish to overlap the window recess. We recommend a minimum of 7.5cm (3") for roller blinds and 7.5cm (3") for roman blinds on each dimension.

Measure the WIDTH dimension first A-B in diagram 2. Then the DROP dimension C-D in diagram 2.

Confirm that the sizes measured are OUTSIDE RECESS.
